the gold is too tacky / fake Louis Vuitton for my taste. Can never go wrong with black since any case will work with it

What you should do is not buy an iPhone.

If you must, definitely not gold. Agreed on the tacky Louis Vuitton styling. Also, black or gray etc won't show dirt as much and look nicer longer, especially as others said with a case.

Friend of mine got the black (space grey, whatever) and it looks awesome.

Personally, for me, the gold is too gaudy. But if you really like it and think you'll still like it in 2 years, go for it.

I'd also advise against gold, but for different reasons than others have brought up. Around here, people were waiting weeks or months for the gold iPhone 5 or 5s. I'd assume that the gold 6 or 6+ might be in the same boat.

I got my 4s around the time the 5s debuted, and usually only get what I can for free through my provider. As such, I don't really keep up with the current trends...so I could be speaking from my posterior, here.

Dont get gold, I got the white iPhone 5 because I didnt want a black painted bezel, I regret it, A white front on an iPhone requires constant cleaning, it gets to disgusting levels of dirty really quickly. Also light leak (common problem with iPhones because they are mass manufactured) is alot more noticeable on a white face, you really are playing the odds with that.
